Make a Difference in Stockport

Can you make a difference to maternity care in Stockport?

Would you enjoy listening to local people’s experiences of maternity care? Can you help turn that feedback into positive action with midwives and doctors to make birth better? Can you chair a meeting or are you willing to learn? Have you had experience of maternity care in Stockport or work with people who do?

Then you could be the new lay vice chair of our Maternity Voices Partnership for Stockport.

We are keen to attract people from a diverse range of backgrounds to work with our diverse communities.

A Maternity Voices Partnership, or MVP, is an independent NHS working group: a team of women, birthing people and their families, midwives, doctors and commissioners, working together to review and develop local maternity care. The chair and engagement lead makes sure the voices of expectant and new parents are at the heart of decisions about how maternity services should be provided.

The MVP vice chair role is for 2 days a month (16 hours, worked flexible). The role is for an initial 3 month period until end March 2023 due to annual funding.

If being the vice chair doesn’t interest you, but you still want to help improve maternity care, then you can volunteer with the MVP.
